UKCA MARKING LABORATORY

UKCA Marking and Certification

UKCA CERTIFICATION MARKING

Our test laboratory is able to support you for the conversion of CE into UKCA and UKCA marking of your products.
With the exit of the United Kingdom from the EU, the CE marking will no longer have any value in the English market for products exported to UK (Great Britain, Scotland and Wales).
It is confirmed that the CE marking will be replaced by the British UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking and the products will have the obligation to apply the UKCA marking if you intend to market the products in Great Britain.

Why is the UKCA mark required?

The UKCA mark is required in order to sell and export your product to the English market, UK, and must comply with UKCA requirements.
The UKCA Marking was specified in the original British "exiting the EU" statutory instruments, and for most products it is defined in the UK Statutory Instrument 2019 n. 696 and amendments.
The UKCA marking requirements will initially align with the CE marking requirements they replace with the possibility of divergence over time.
Already from 1 June 2022 EMCTEST Technologies is able to support companies in reaching the UK market through UKCA in the context of products already certified according to the Machinery Directive.

When should a product already CE marked in UKCA be marked?

The transition period for most CE marked products is valid until 31 December 2024.
From 1 January 2025, it will no longer be recognized in Great Britain for areas covered by the UKCA mark.
However, a product with the CE mark can be marketed in the United Kingdom only and exclusively if accompanied by the UKCA mark and in compliance with the relevant British standards.
